Wen Open Community Kit and the $100 Trillion Thought Experiment
Historical post This post records events as they were reported at the time. Facts are checked against sources; nothing here is a forecast.
On November 11, 2025, the Wen community published a new pack of open materials: images, short videos and graphics that anyone may use, copy and remix. This post shares the kit, explains the spirit behind it, and then takes on the boldest idea that travelled with it — a "what if the crypto market reached $100 trillion" scenario. We keep the idea, but we treat it the way an almanac should: as a thought experiment, with the price maths removed and every claim checked.
The open kit
The materials live in a shared community folder: Wen community materials (Google Drive), updated November 11, 2025. Inside are posters, memes, stickers and short clips of the Wen cat — the same visual language you see across this site. Many of them are also collected in our Wen Media archive, where every image opens at full size.
A few months earlier the community had introduced Wen as "the number one cat", in the same breath as Bonk, "the number one dog". The relay race between the two was just beginning; the kit is part of how the cat steps out of the shadows.
How to use it well
- Use it freely. The kit is shared openly by the community for publications, videos and fan art. See our open use policy for the spirit of it.
- Keep the cat recognisable. Remix the backgrounds and the jokes, but keep the Wen cat itself on-model; that is what makes the brand work.
- Never attach a buy link. Art is a way into the story, not an advert. If you mention the token, show its address, not a trading venue.
- Credit the community. A short "art: Wen community" is enough and helps others find the source.
The $100 trillion thought experiment
The original post imagined a future in which the whole crypto market grows to $100 trillion, driven by institutional adoption, clear regulation and integration with traditional finance. It then asked how a community token like WEN would benefit. We have removed the price projections — per-token prices, multipliers and "generational wealth" estimates — because they are not knowledge, they are guesses, and this almanac does not publish them. What remains is a useful question: if crypto became truly mainstream, which qualities of a project would matter most?
- Fair distribution. A token that started with a wide airdrop and no private sale is easier to trust when millions of newcomers arrive. WEN's January 2024 airdrop to over a million wallets is its strongest card here.
- Real utility. In a mainstream market, projects that are only memes fade; projects with open tools stay. WNS — open NFTs on Token-2022 with royalties and composability — is the utility side of Wen. Our Lab turns it into receipts, royalties and invoices anyone can test.
- Resilience. Solana kept running at 100% uptime through the WEN launch traffic; that kind of track record matters when stakes rise. More in our post on the launch-day stress test.
- Culture. Brands people love survive cycles. Wen's cat, its art and its friendship with Bonk are cultural glue — the reason someone remembers the name at all.
- Honesty about risk. Volatility, corrections and copycat tokens grow with the market. The projects that last are the ones that teach people to check before they trust.
That is the whole thought experiment, without the numbers — and arguably more useful without them.
Fact check of the original post
The original draft mixed solid facts with guesses and a few errors. Here is how each key claim stands today:
| Claim in the original | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Airdrop to more than 1 million wallets, January 2024, via Jupiter's LFG Launchpad | Verified | About Wen |
| $WEN is a fractionalized NFT of Meow's poem | Verified | "A Love Letter to Wen Bros", split into a trillion pieces |
| Unclaimed tokens were burned (about 27%) | Figures differ | Sources give different burn figures; see the trust chain |
| WEN market cap "about $30 billion" (Nov 2025) | Wrong | The same post later says $20–29 million; the billions figure was an error. We publish no prices. |
| Wen owns a top cat account on X with millions of followers | Reported | WEN acquired the @TweetsOfCats account (the original named a different account) — Syndicate newsletter |
| BonkFun fees buy back and burn WEN; the Wen DAO stakes 5 billion BONK | Unverified | We found no primary source; treat as rumour until one appears |
| WNS cuts NFT minting costs by 90% | Unverified | WNS is lightweight by design; the exact saving depends on the setup |
| Solana held 100% uptime during the WEN launch | Reported | SolanaFloor coverage at the time |
Wen and Bonk: the cat and the dog of Solana
Wen and Bonk are often called the cat-and-dog duo of Solana memecoins. The friendship is visible: shared posters, shared events, and a joint limited drop, "Drop 001: Wen x Bonk", announced for October 29, 2025 together with the toy brand Playground reported. Bonk brings an established ecosystem of tools and events; Wen brings a fair-launch story and the WNS standard. The deeper economic links described in the original post — fee sharing, cross-staking — are not confirmed, so we leave them in the fact-check table rather than in the story.
What Wen has actually achieved
- A benchmark for fair distribution. Equal-sized drops to over a million wallets, with no private allocation to buy out, set a reference point for later Solana launches.
- An open standard in real use. WEN was the first token tied to WNS, and outside builders used the standard within weeks — AssetDash minted the first 10,000-piece collection on it. The WNS 0.0 proposal documents the design.
- A public stress test. The launch pushed Solana and its wallets hard; the network stayed up, and the lessons fed straight into the $JUP airdrop days later.
- A living culture. Thousands of community images, videos and stories — including our own fairy tale, Crypto Fantasy: the Inverted Almanac — keep the cat alive between market cycles.
