The Gates: a Prose Poem About the Autumn of 2025

Reworked market post The original was a market post. We kept short excerpts as a record and replaced the rest with the technology underneath and how it serves people.

The gates: a prose poem about a hard autumn

In December 2025 the original blog published a dark prose poem about the autumn market: a beautiful rise, a sudden fall, and a cat-oracle speaking from the ashes. It was marked "a working draft" and mixed the poem with fund flows, yields and hints at the future. We kept the poem's opening verse — it belongs to the community — and placed beside it the real events that inspired it, and what lasts when markets fall.

A window will open in front of you. Yet the time will be short. Only your soul will remain with you — and it will open a window into the light.

The opening verse of the original poem, December 2025

The autumn behind the poem

  • The rise: on October 28, 2025, the first U.S. Solana staking fund opened on the New York Stock Exchange with strong first-day inflows — see BSOL on Wall Street.
  • The fall: on October 10–11, 2025, a sudden market drop triggered about $19 billion in forced liquidations of leveraged positions — the largest in crypto history (Decrypt). That is the "harvest moon bleeding red" of the poem.

How to read a poem about markets

The poem is honest about one thing: leverage turns a fall into a disaster. Most of the losses that weekend belonged to borrowed positions closed automatically. Read as a warning, it is useful. Read as a prophecy — "the old energy dies, the new one rises" — it is only a mood opinion. This almanac keeps both apart: the verse stays, the forecast goes. More about the difference between moods and facts: PPP and PvP and more than a meme. For a lighter piece of almanac fiction, read the Inverted Almanac.

What lasted

The poem's final page pointed to the things that do not depend on a chart — and they held through the storm: the WNS standard and the first 10,000-piece collection minted on it, the record of the launch-day stress test, and the free models of Wen Open Lab — what WNS is useful for.
