WEN Is Four Things at Once — and Not a Tokenized Stock

The original post was a price prediction. Its only lasting value was a sentence from an article by Col Jung that described WEN better than most: a community memecoin, a proof of concept for a new token standard, a fractional NFT, and a stress test — "WEN is a lot of things." We dropped the prediction and built the post around that idea, and around the news of the same week: real company shares arriving on Solana as tokens. Side by side, the two show clearly what a token can be.

Shares on Solana: what arrived in July 2025
On June 30, 2025, the issuer Backed launched xStocks on Solana: tokens of well-known U.S. shares, each backed one-to-one by a real share held with a regulated custodian, built with Solana's token extensions. Within days they could be traded through Jupiter and held in ordinary Solana wallets (Solana Foundation case study). Jupiter's DAO celebrated the anniversary of its "Giant Unified Market" idea — bringing all assets onto one network — with exactly this news.

Why the difference matters
Calling WEN "the next bluechip" borrows a word from the stock market for something that is not a stock. The honest picture is more interesting: the same rails now carry shares, dollars and a cat.
