People Make Wen: a Community Note from July 2025

July 21, 2025

Reworked market post The original was a market post. We kept short excerpts as a record and replaced the rest with the technology underneath and how it serves people.

A happy Wen cat: the community making its own videos
"People are doing it themselves, and for free"

In July 2025 the original post reported a sharp rise in WEN over a weekend and attached a long machine-written "analysis" that admitted, in its second sentence, that it had no price data. We removed the numbers and the analysis. What was worth keeping was the first part: a short, warm note about people making Wen videos on their own, for free — and a fact about Wen's launch that turned out to be true.

Guys, people are starting to talk about Wen. New videos have appeared on YouTube — people are doing it themselves and for free. For us this is the truth, a real PPP model. Everyone who is at the source will go down in Wen history.

What "a real PPP model" means

In crypto slang, PvP ("player versus player") describes markets where one trader's gain is another's loss. The Wen community uses PPP for the opposite mood: people making things for each other — videos, art, explainers — where everyone who joins adds something and nobody has to lose community term. The original blog explained both terms in a separate post: PPP and PvP in crypto.

Free, voluntary community work is the healthiest signal a project can have — far more telling than any weekend chart.

An analysis without data

The removed text began: "without specific price data from reliable sources… I'll analyze this surge based on general principles". That is worth remembering as a lesson. An analysis that has no data is a story, however confident it sounds — and much of what circulates about small coins is exactly that. Before trusting any market write-up, ask: where do the numbers come from, and can I check them? Our guides help: on-chain numbers, explained and a market day, read calmly.

Two facts that hold

  • Most of WEN went to the community. About 70% of the supply was set aside for the airdrop to more than a million Solana wallets.
  • The unclaimed part was burned. When the claim window closed on January 29, 2024, more than 271 billion WEN — over 27% of the total supply, nearly 39% of the airdrop allocation — were burned for good (Decrypt).

Make something yourself

The original's best line was an invitation: everyone at the source becomes part of the history. The community's open materials — art, logos, video kits — are collected in open-source community material and Wen Media. If you would rather build than draw, Wen Open Lab has free models to run and improve.

Check before you trust: the WEN contract

The one and only WEN mint on Solana is WENWENvqqNya429ubCdR81ZmD69brwQaaBYY6p3LCpk. Compare it character by character with the Solana Explorer and the official site wenwencoin.com. A short video shows how: find the ID contract. Names, tickers and logos can be copied; the address cannot.
