Wen x Bonk Plush: Drop 001 with Playground and Toymak3rs

Some partnerships are announced with charts. This one was announced with a plush toy. On October 29, 2025, the Wen cat and the Bonk dog — the two best-known mascots on Solana — released a limited-edition plush together, made with the collectibles studio Toymak3rs and dropped through Playground, with all proceeds going to an animal charity. This post tells the story of the drop, the people behind it, and what it says about the cat-and-dog friendship.
The drop
Playground, a platform for limited collectible drops, opened its first release — "Drop 001: Wen x Bonk" — on October 29, 2025 at 12 PM Eastern time. The announcement was short and playful: "Our first limited edition drop is nearly here, and it's out of this world." The product was a single plush that put the Wen cat and the Bonk dog together, in a deliberately small run.
A day earlier, Wen's own account set the tone: the team was "teaming up with @bonk_inu to do an extremely limited edition Wen x Bonk plushy", and "100% of the proceeds will go back to charity". Bonk replied with a single word — "Excited" — and three exclamation marks.
Who made it
- Wen — the cat born from Meow's poem and airdropped to over a million Solana wallets. Its story is on About Wen.
- Bonk — Solana's community dog coin, known for its tools, events and charity work.
- Toymak3rs — the collectibles studio behind the plush. Wen first announced a plush collection with Toymak3rs in April 2024; the studio is known for collaborations with entertainment and fashion brands.
- Playground — the drop platform that hosted the release as its first ever "Drop 001".
Proceeds to charity
The charity partner was Buddies for Paws, an animal-welfare organisation that the Bonk community has supported for a long time; Buddies for Paws itself reports donations in 2025 that were matched by Bonk. For a cat and a dog, raising money for animals is the most natural cause there is — and it turns a merchandise drop into something people can feel good about whether or not they hold any token.
The cat-and-dog duo
Wen and Bonk are often described as the cat and the dog of Solana: Bonk the established community coin that helped revive the ecosystem after the 2022 crash, Wen the younger cat with deep roots in Jupiter and the WNS standard. Their friendship shows up everywhere — in shared posters, in football tournaments (see Copa de los Memes) and now in a toy.
The value of such a partnership is cultural before it is anything else. A plush is something a child can hug and a parent can ask about. It carries the brand into homes that will never open a crypto wallet, and that is exactly the kind of reach a community coin cannot buy with advertising.
